Autumns and Chinar leaves – a combination which has fascinated many a people. It is in this combination that a shawl of hand woven Pashmina is conjured. The legendary wrap is of a natural shade and before coming out as a masterpiece, undergoes numerous steps. It begins its journey as a fibre of Pashm which is combed and cleaned and spun into threads. These threads are then interwoven into warps and wefts to give them the form of a shawl. The artisan who weaves them takes approximately a month in its weaving. The plain shawl thus crafted is passed onto a Kaarigar of Sozni who with the help of his needle, forms brazen Chinar leaves in their autumnal hues all over its essence. It is these chinar leaves which gives the wrap a brightened look while the Pashmina does the rest of the play. Wrap it on a chilly winter morning and let its feathery warm touch add an element of regality in your attire.
